Glenn HS PTSA Senior Scholarships
Tom Glenn High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) will award a minimum of one $500 scholarship for the 2022-2023 school year. Additional scholarships may become available based on fundraising results.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- 2023 graduate of Tom Glenn High School
- Cumulative minimum grade point average of 2.5 on 4.0 scale or 3.5 on a 5.0 scale
- Applicants must be a current paid member of Tom Glenn HS PTSA by April 15th of the current academic year. Membership is $10 dollars. (join via glennhsptsa.memberhub.com)
- Applicants must plan to enroll at least half-time in an accredited college or university or vocational/technical institute for the fall semester following the year of application.
- A complete application including essay(s) and any supporting documents or recommendation letters must be submitted by May 1st of the current academic year.
- Letter from Tom Glenn High School counselor verifying grade point average.
- All applications and supporting documents must be received no later than 11:59 pm CST on May 1st of the current academic year via the Google Forms link.
Supporting Documents:
- The scholarship application is submitted via the Google form link for the specific academic year in which the student is applying.
- All supporting documents are to be uploaded in either a pdf format or a .docx format.
Disbursement of Scholarship:
The scholarship will be paid in one lump sum directly to the institution of higher education. The recipient of the scholarship will need to provide the mailing address, contact name and number of the scholarship representative and their student id number at the institution of higher education to facilitate that the scholarship is credited to the correct student account. Glenn HS PTSA will send payment to the institution of higher education.
Awards:
Scholarship recipients will be presented with a Certificate of Award at the Awards Ceremony typically held in May. Please visit the school calendar for the most accurate information regarding date and time of this ceremony.
Rating of Applicants:
Applicants who meet all eligibility requirements are rated and ranked by the selection committee based on the following criteria in no particular order:
1. High school and/or college accomplishments, 2. Scholastic merit, 3. Essay, 4. Community Involvement
